For those of you at this week's training session who were asking about screenwriting templates, UBFS recommends [ScriptSmart], which is a free template for MS Word. If you don't have Word, the cross-platform (and free) program [Celtx] is also worth checking out.

As a companion to our training sessions, we'd also recommend having look at the [tutorials] over at acceptable.tv, which are not only very informative, but also very funny. And they have Jack Black presenting them - what's not to like?

There's no training session this week because of [Screentest], so the Editing training session will be next week on Sat 14th March. If you're on the mailing list, we'll send you more details closer to the time.

22nd February 2009

In case you missed either of the last two training sessions, here's the training sheets in PDF format for you to download:

UBFS is getting ready for new exciting year of filmmaking madness! To sign up, come and visit our stall at the Freshers’ Fair on the 2nd and 3rd of October. In return for just £5, we can teach you everything you need to know about making a film, plus you get free access to all our equipment.

You will find us on the 3rd floor of the Union, where we can tell you all about our society and answer your questions - to get a better idea of what UBFS is all about, check out the [About] section and the rest of our website.

To start off the term with a bang, our ever successful 48 Hour Film Challenge is a fun opportunity for members to give free rein to their creative talent as part of a team and see the film screened in front of a packed audience. From then on we will be holding our regular activities: Screenwriters’ Guild, Wednesday Filmmaking and our new training sessions.

We also have several [upcoming films], so check out their progress - and perhaps even get involved!

You can also get acquainted with the new [committee] and see what [projects] we have in the pipeline.

We hope you enjoy your browse around the site, and we'll hopefully see you at the Fresher's Fair!
